John Xintavelonis (also known as John X〔"(Newsworthy names of 2008 )", ''The Mercury'', 31 December 2008〕) is a Tasmanian actor and comedian, known in Australia for his performance as Pumbaa the warthog in the Australian production of the stage musical, ''The Lion King''. ==Career== Xintavelonis has worked for many Tasmanian production companies including the ''10 Days On The Island Festival'', ''Big Monkey'', ''ExitLeft'', ''Fifth Wall'', ''Zootango'', ''Theatre Alfresco'', ''Theatre Royal/XWWX'', ''Hills Centre'' and ''Old Nick''. His screen work includes television shows ''Something Hot Before Bed'' (Australian Broadcasting Corporation); ''TODAY'' (Nine) Sunrise (Seven); ''Football Life'' (WIN TV) and film appearances in ''Sound Of One Hand Clapping'' (Artist Services) and ''Teamwork'' ((IzzyTheDog )). He has also hosted a Tasmanian radio program as well as doing voices for animations, advertisements and puppet theatre. John played Mr. Braithwaite in Billy Elliot the Musical in Sydney and Melbourne.〔〔"(Billy gets the X factor )", ABC News, 13 July 2007, retrieved 2010-02-06〕 In August 2009 he travelled to South Korea with ''Jekyll & Hyde The Musical'' where he played the roles of Lord Savage and The Spider.
